Thalia Azrak, born in Mainz, sang the Sandmann in Hänsel und Gretel at the Burg Festival in Bad Vilbel whilst still a student, and her first Barbarinas in The Marriage of Figaro at the Opera Academy in Bad Orb in 2019. Since then engagements have included a staged version of Schumann's Frauenliebe und -leben under Roland Schwab's direction and the Dog in Janacek's Cunning Little Vixen. She took part in various opera for children at places including theatres in Brandenburg and Schwäbisch Hall and Oper Frankfurt. She started studying for her bachelors with Thomas Heyer at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main in 2017 and went to further her studies at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University for Music in Leipzig in 2022, with Prof Elvira Dreßen. She gained further experience and inspiration while taking part in masterclasses held by Marek Rzepka, Judith Lindenbaum, KS Ulrike Schneider, Brigitte Wohlfahrt and Annette Dasch. She won prizes at Sachsen's Singer Academy in Torgau and Leipzig Young Voices e.V.
