Ulrich Hübner studied at the University for Music in Cologne with Erich Penzel before joining the Staatstheater in Mainz’ Orchestra, which he left in 1995 after winning 1st Prize at the International Natural Horn Competition in Bad Harzburg to devote himself entirely to early music. His great passion is chamber music, which he researches intensively and performs with groups including the Reicha'schen Quintet and Ulmian Trio. Ulrich Hübner started teaching at the University in Cologne in 1996.
