Viola Pobitschka

Viola Pobitschka is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, acting in this new production of Aribert Reimann’s L’invisible. Born in Bad Homburg, she studied drama at the University for Music and Theater in Hannover. Engagements have taken her to places including Theater Freiburg, Theater Heidelberg, the Neumarkt Theater in Zürich and Staatsschauspiel in Dresden and on tour to Peking and Tel Aviv. She spent time under contract to Hessen’s Staatstheater in Wiesbaden and the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf, working with directors including Sebastian Baumgarten, Rafael Sanchez, Michael Talke, Manfred Beilharz and Markus Dietz. She has worked intensively with the director Daniela Löffner for many years. Viola Pobitschka has breathed life into many lead roles, including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Raquel in The Female Jew from Toledo, Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Mephisto in Faust I and II, the Marquise in the Marquise of O and Natascha in The Three Sisters. She works regularly on radio programmes and productions and is much sought-after for readings. She and her partner, the jazz pianist Omer Klein, live in Frankfurt am Main with their three children.
