Tobias Hechler is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt in this new production of Aribert Reimann’s L‘invisible. Earlier this season he took part in Das kunstseidene Mädchen / The Artificial Silk Girl, based on a novel by Irmgard Keun, at the Schauspielhaus in Hannover. Recent debuts included Oberon in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Theater Vorpommern and Ruggiero in Handel’s Alcina at the Volkstheater in Rostock. Other engagements have taken him to places including the Theater an der Wien, the Festspielhaus in Baden-Baden, Nationaltheater in Mannheim, Hannover State Opera, the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt, Theater Osnabrück and the Bühnen in Wuppertal. Recent concert work has included performing in oratorios by J. S. Bach and Handel, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms. He took part in the 2021 Salzburg Festival’s renowned Young Singers Project. He graduated from the University of Arts in Bremen under the guidance of Katharina Rössner before being taught by Gudrun Pelker at the University for Music, Theatre and Media in Hannover. He was also coached by, and gained further inspiration from Margreet Honig and Marek Rzepka. Tobias Hechler was awarded a scholarship by the Evangelical Studienwerks in Villigst.
