Julia Stuart joined the Opera Studio this season, making her house debut singing the Priestess in a revival of our new Aida which was followed by the Shadow of a Young Woman in a new production of Magnard's Guercœur, Clothilde in Norma and a Flowermaiden in this new production of Parsifal. After gaining her Bachelor of Music at the University of California in Los Angeles this American soprano went on to graduate from the Juilliard School in New York and studies with the soprano Diana Soviero. She recently made her debut at Opera Saratoga, singing Fiordiligi (role debut) in Mozart's Così fan tutte and took part in a many productions at university, singing roles including Mrs Johannes „Ma“ Zegner in Proving Up by Missy Mazzoli and Royce Vavrek, Frau Fluth in Otto Nicolai's The Merry Wives of Windsor and Eurydike in Offenbach's Orpheus in der Unterwelt. She has taken part in many masterclasses, including those run by Barbara Bonney, Lisette Oropesa, Steven Blier and Anthony Roth Costanzo.
