Konstanze Schlaud, who sings Zerlina in this new production of Offenbach's The Bandits,  studied at the Academy for Music in Darmstadt and University for Music in Detmold  with Mechthild Böhme. She gained inspiration from masterclasses held by Ruth Ziesak and Rudolf Piernay. Whilst still a studen she joined the Gäching Kantorei in Stuttgart under Helmuth Rilling and sang in various ensembles and choirs including the Bamberg Symphony Chorus, the Schleswig-Holstein Festival and KlangVerwaltung choirs. Solo appearances, not including ones in concert and recital, have included the lead role in the world premiere of Cord Meijering's Die kleine Meerfrau / The Little Mermaid at the Academy for Music in Darmstadt, Cercatrice in Puccini's Suor Angelica at the Staatstheater in Darmstadt, the Queen of the Night at the  Bad Arolsen Mozart Festival, the lead role in Ibert's Angélique and Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare in Egitto at the Landestheater in Detmold. She sang Euridice in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo at Oper Frankfurt in 2005 and joined Oper Frankfurt's Chorus in 2008, where other solo appearances have included ones in Barrie Kosky's Purcell's Dido and Aeneas.
