The Spanish dancer Clara Navarro studied classic and contemporary dance at the Carmen Amaya Conservatoire in her home town of Madrid and is a member of the África Guzmán Dance Project’s company. Various scholarships enabled her to gain further experience and inspiration from ensembles including BalletMet Ohio, Cuballet and universities including the Rock School in Philadelphia, the Ècole de Ballet Russe in Geneva and the Centro de Danza Víctor Ullate in Madrid. After spending three years taking part in the musical Billy Elliot she became increasingly involved in operatic projects, working at places including the Teatro Real de Madrid in productions of Otello, Gloriana, Capriccio, Le nozze di Figaro and Nixon in China and she will make her debut at the Grand Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona this season, in a production of Eugene Onegin.
