Janis Marquard

Janis Marquard studied with Prof. Michael Sanderling and Prof. Jan Ickert at Frankfurt's University for Music and the Performing Arts. He was under part-time contract to the Frankfurt Opern und Museumsorchester in 2019/20 season joining the orchestra. Janis Marquard was a member of Hessen Youth Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra and the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie. He and his Arcon Trio won 2nd prize at the 2018 International Johannes Brahms Competition, after which this piano trio performed at venues including the Musikverein in Vienna and in Poland. Janis Marquard gained further invaluable inspiration while taking part in masterclasses held by, amongst others, David Geringas, Christoph Richter, Johannes Moser and Julius Berger.
