Gabriele Ascani

Gabriele Ascani is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she danced in Tchaikovsky’s Die Zauberin / The Sorceress earlier this season, for this new production of Handel’s Orlando. Born in Italy, he studied dance at the the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt from 2017 - 2020. During this time he worked with choreographers including Dieter Heitkamp, Johannes Wieland, Iván Pérez and Paul White and started working as a choreographer. He’s been working free-lance since he graduated. This season he can be seen in productions including Pique Dame and The Makropoulos Case at the Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, where he has performed in Tristan und Isolde, Jörg Widmann’s Babylon, Don Carlo and Cabaret. Other projects have including dance productions of Lost Bodies – Urban Encounters with Edan Gorlicki. Gabriele Ascani is currently a member of Frankfurt’s Hennermann’s Horde dance company, appearing most recently in a production of GLANZ*.
