Roles sung by soprano Clara Kim, Korean name Hyoyoung Kim, at Oper Frankfurt while a member of the Opera Studio from 2022 - 2024 included Pamina and Papagena in a new production of Die Zauberflöte, the Sandman in Hänsel und Gretel - all role debuts, Norina in a new Don Pasquale and 5th Maid in Elektra. She recently enjoyed great success with the title role in Rimsky-Korsakov's Snow Maiden at the 2023 Winter Tirol Festival in Erl and can be heard again in Frankfurt this season singing 1st Flowermaiden and Oberto in new productions of Wagner's Parsifal and Handel's Alcina. After studying at Seoul National University, where she sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, she joined the renowned Juilliard School in New York, being taught by people including Edith Wiens and singing roles including Almirena in Rinaldo. She has already performed several times as a Young Artist in Kukje Art Hall and Humho Art Hall, as a NYIOP-Candidate, with the Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra and won the 24th Korean Broadcasting System Music Competition. This winner of the 2021 Metropolitan National Council Auditions was awarded scholarships by the Toulmin Foundation and Seoul National University and South Korea’s 2020 Culture Prize.
