Peter Bronder is back in Frankfurt, where he was last seen repeating his memorable portrayal of the Captain in Wozzeck, to sing Antonio, the treasurer, in this new production of Offenbach's The Bandits. He is a regular guest at leading opera houses around the world including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, San Francisco Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Zürich Opera and the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels. Recent engagements have included Missail (Boris Godunov) at the Opéra National in Paris, the Shabby Man (Lady Macbeth of Mzensk), Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte) and Jarischkin (The Nose) at Covent Garden, Le Lépreux (Saint François d’Assise) with the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and the title role in The Dwarf in Lisbon. He also enjoyed great success in Wagner roles: singing Loge (Das Rheingold) at the Ruhrtriennale, Edinburgh International Festival and Oper Stuttgart, Mime (Der Ring des Nibelungen) at the Staatsoper Berlin, La Scala Milan, the Gran Teatre Liceu in Barcelona, Teatro Massimo in Palermo and with the New York Philharmonic. He also sang Herodes (Salome) at La Scala Milan, the Teatro Real in Madrid and Teatro Regio in Turin. Other roles at Oper Frankfurt in recent seasons included the title roles in Wagner's Rienzi, Pfitzner's Palestrina and Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg / The Dwarf. An impressive discography, which includes Rienzi and Palestrina, live from Oper Frankfurt, documents his artistic achievements.
