Born in Friedberg (Bayern) Mirjam Motzke started dancing at a ballet school in her home town of Mering. She started studying for her bachelors in dance at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Frankfurt in 2017, in classical and contemporary dance and gaining experience in various improvisational directions. Whilst still a student she danced in works choreographed by people including William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián and Tanja Liedtke. She gained further experience with Hessen’s State Ballet in Wiesbaden and the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company in 2021. Support from the Dis-Tanz Start Programme enabled Mirjam Motzke to work from February 2022 until the end of the year at Hessen’s Staatsballett Wiesbaden / Darmstadt where she danced choreographed by Tim Plegge and Sharon Eyal, which was followed by further guest engagements in January 2023. Now she's back at Oper Frankfurt, where she was seen in Claus Guth’s new production of Dialogues des Carmélites to dance in his new Elektra.
