Ulrich Weber

Born in 1975 in Mainz, Ulrich Weber studied at the Spielmannszug in Gimbsheim and the Jugendmusikschule in Worms, during which time he was a member of various youth orchestrs, percussion groups, bands and an ensemble for contemporary music. He graduated from the University for Music in Trossingen, which was followed by an apprenticeship with the Südwestdeutschen Philharmonie in Constance and a scholarship at the Berlin Philharmonic's Karajan Academy. After time spent playing solo timpani with Mecklenburg's Staatskapelle in Schwerin and the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden and Freiburg he took up the same post with the Frankfurt Opern snd Museumsorchester in 2003, since when he has held a professorship at the University for Music in Frankfurt.
