Giacomo Sagripanti, who studied in Pesaro and Bologna, is back at Oper Frankfurt, where he made his debut in 2015 with Rossini’s La gazza ladra, for this revival of Macbeth. He’s been conducting regularly at Opéra national de Paris since 2016 and Vienna State Opera since 2019, made his debuts at Covent Garden in London in 2022 (La traviata), the Teatro Real in Madrid in 2023 (Il turco in Italia) and, in 2025, the Met in New York (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Aix-en-Provence Festival (Louise). He also worked recently with, amongst others, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Hamburg State Opera, the Teatro la Fenice in Venice, Teatro Regio in Turin, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Bolshoi in Moscow, the Grand Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Seattle Opera, the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Rossini Festival in Pesaro, in Glyndebourne Festival, the Chorégies d’Orange and Arena di Verona. He also enjoys a busy concert career, working with orchestras including the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, the Seattle Symphony and the RAI Orchestra in Turin. He made his debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich in 2016/17 with La Cenerentola, where you can hear him with Bellini’s Norma later this season, during which he also conducts La fille du régiment at the Met in New York, Rusalka at the Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse and Il trovatore at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo.
