The Spanish conductor Ramón Tebar, who is working at Oper Frankfurt for the first time, is Principal Conductor of the Association des Orquestra de Valencia and Artistic Director of Naples Opera. He spent time as Music Director of Florida Grand Opera in Miami and was 1st Guest Conductor of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia. His 2022/23 season sees him making his debuts with, amongst others, the Cincinnati Symphony, Calgary Philharmonic, Copenhagen Philharmonic and Norrlandsoperans Symphony orchestras, his return to the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires for Bizet’s Les pêcheurs de perles and concerts with the Basque National Orchestra. Recent engagements have taken him to places including the Vienna State Opera (Turandot, Don Pasquale, a ballet evening with Mahler 4 and Madama Butterfly), Cincinnati Opera, the Savonlinna Festival (Carmen), the Deutsch Oper Berlin (Madama Butterfly), the Royal Opera Kungliga Operan Stockholm (La cenerentola) and Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona (L’elisir d’amore). He is also much sought-after for concert work with orchestras at home including the Spanish National Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony, the RTVE Orchestra in Madrid, the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana and orchestras in Castilla y Léon, Cordoba, Galicia, Gran Canaria, Navarra and Oviedo, and abroad including the London and Prague philharmonias, the Het Gelders Orkest, the Malaysian Philharmonic, Armenian Philharmonic, Orchestre de l’Opéra de Rouen, St. Petersburg Symphony, San Antonio Symphony and Orquestra Sinfónica Nacional de Perú. CDs include albums with the Joseph Calleja and the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana (DECCA) and Gregory Kunde and the Orquestra Sinfonica de Navarra (Universal).
