Ruth Stofer studied art and media at the University for Arts in Zurich.  After taking her masters in 2010 she started working as a video technician at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich, working on many plays. In 2012 she designed the video for Ruedi Häusermann's Vielzahl leiser Pfiffe.. She has been working freelance since 2016 designing videos for Jan Bosse, Eva-Maria Höckmayr, Chris Kondek, Volker Lösch, Ruedi Häusermann, Karin Henkel and doubelucky productions, at theatres including the Kammerspiel in Munich, Zurich Opera, Theater Basel, the Opéra national de Lorraine, Oper Bonn, the Mousonturm in Frankfurt, Schauspiel Leipzig, Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Schauspielhaus in Zurich. She also continues with her own artistic career, often with her twin sister Rebecca, as the artist duo stofer&stofer. In 2017 stofer&stofer and Veronica Rodriguez created the multimedia performance Guts Reloaded , which when on tour to New York, Chicago and Detroit. They have taken part in many exhibitions at home and abroad and won scholarships in Paris and Chicago.
