Robert Jones has designed sets for many David McVicar productions, including Gloriana (Madrid), Norma and Anna Bolena (Metropolitan Opera in New York), Andrea Chénier (Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London), Don Giovanni (Melbourne), Tristan und Isolde (Tokyo and Vienna State Opera), Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Chicago, Glyndebourne and the Met) and L’incoronazione di Poppea, a co-production with the Staatsoper Berlin, Strasbourg, Brussels, Paris and Copenhagen. He also designed sets for Die Fledermaus (Met), L’elisir d’amore and Leonard Bernstein‘s On the Town (English National Opera in London). He has worked on more than 20 productions for the Royal Shakespeare Company, and his costumes for Henry VIII  and A Winter’s Tale were nominated for Olivier Awards in 1999 and 2000. Other work has included productions on Broadway, at the Almeida Theatre in London, Gate Theatre in Dublin, Donmar Warehouse, Royal Court Theatre, National Theatre, the Duke of York’s Theatre and West End Theatre in London.
