Adriane Westerbarkey works regularly with the director Florentine Klepper. Their productions at Oper Frankfurt were Arnulf Herrmann's Wasser / Water, Telemann's Orpheus, Martinů's Julietta and Smetana's Dalibor. She also designed costumes for their productions of Salome, Norma and Der ferne Klang / The distant Sound at Graz Opera, Die tote Stadt / The Dead City and Giulio Cesare in Egitto at Theater Freiburg, Katja Kabanowa and Hosokawa's Hanjo in Bern and Don Giovanni at the Stadttheater in Klagenfurt. Other places where they have worked have included the Schauspielhaus in Stuttgart, Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and Theater Basel. Plans this season include a new production of Carmen at the Opéra de Dijon. Other theatres where she has designed sets and costumes have included the Nationaltheater in Mannheim and Schauspiel Frankfurt with Christiane Schneider, Urs Troller, Wanda Golonka and André Wilms, with whom she staged the world premiere of Jarell's Le Père at the Schwetzingen Festival. Adriane Westerbarkey has also worked with the ZKM Karlsruhe's ARD-Hörspieltagen, the Tokyo Wondersite Festival and Megaron Music Festival in Athens, has made Trickfilms and worked on an education project run by the Berlin Philharmonic illustrating programmes and organised several, and diverse, artistic projects.
