Set designer Raimund Orfeo Voigt made his debut at Oper Frankfurt with this thrilling production of Norma. It was his first production with Christof Loy, with whom he also created Strauss’ Capriccio at the Teatro Real in Madrid. Other recent productions have included Samson et Dalila at the Vienna State Opera with Alexandra Liedtke, A Florentine Tragedy / Gianni Schicchi double bill at the Nationale Opera Amsterdam with Jan Philipp Gloger, Der Freischütz at La Scala Milan, La Bohème and Fidelio at the Grand Théâtre de Genève with Matthias Hartmann and Parsifal at Theater Bremen with Marco Štorman. He has also designed sets for plays for directors including Andrea Breth, Anna Badora, Annette Raffalt, Christiane Pohle and Mateja Koležnik at the Burgtheater in Vienna, Schauspielhaus Graz, the Berlin Ensemble, the Schauspielhaus in Düsseldorf, Residenztheater in Munich, Staatstheater Mainz, Schauspiel Leipzig and the Salzburg and Munich festivals. Raimund Orfeo Voigt studied with Prof. Erich Wonder at the Academy for Fine Arts in Vienna. He then spent fruitful years assisting Erich Wonder and Robert Wilson. He held a masterclass in Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna in 2011.
