Nikolaus Henseler
Children's Chorus Master / Assistant to Chorus Master

Nikolaus Henseler joined Oper Frankfurt in 2017/18 as Assistant to the Chorus Master. This season he trains the children's chorus for Werther and Billy Budd and the main chorus for Così fan tutte, Rigoletto und La Cenerentola. Nikolaus Henseler worked as a coach at the Birnauer Kantorei from 2008-2016. He started leading the »Camerata Serena« vocal ensemble in Friedrichshafen in 2012. He studies choral direction at the University of Music in Trossingen with Prof. Michael Alber. Earlier on in his career he studied the piano with Reinhard Becker, passing his final exams with distinction. He has also obtained Master degrees in Philosophy and German at Konstanz University. He has taken part in many masterclasses, including ones held by Marcus Creed, Hans-Christoph Rademann, Daniel Reuss, Frieder Bernius and Sebastian Tewinkel (conducting) and Thomas Hecht and Günter Ludwig (piano).
