David Laera's recent productions have included Maometto II. at COC in Toronto, Khowanshchina at Opera Vlaanderen in Antwerp, a Pierrot Lunaire / Anna Toll double bill at Oper Frankfurt and Serse at the Handel Festival in Karlsruhe. Engagements during recent seasons as a dancer, choreographer and director's assistant have included Hoffmans Erzählungen / The Tales of Hoffmann and Gounod's Faust at the Staatstheater in Karlsruhe, Gegen die Wand / Against the Wall and Platée at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Moses und Aron and Ariadne auf Naxos at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Die Passagierin / The (female) Passenger and Carmen  and Giulio Cesare at the Bregenz and Salzburg festivals, Rossini's La gazza ladra at Oper Frankfurt, Der Richter und sein Henker  / The Judge and his Hangman at Theater Erfurt, Aggripina at Zurich Opera, Alcina at the Opéra National de Bordeaux and Teatro Real in Madrid, Die Soldaten at the Ruhrtriennale and Lincoln Center Festival in New York and Thaïs at Theater Bonn. He works regularly with directors and choreographers including David Pountney, Beate Vollack, David Alden, Ramses Siegel, Claus Guth, Leah Hausmann, Francisco Negrin, Robert Carsen, Rosemund Gilmore, Graham Vick, Ron Howell, Yuval Sharon, James Darrah, Kasper Holten, Minka-Marie Heiß and Susanna Curtis.
