This soprano has power, effortlessly able to make herself heard over a chorus singing fortissimo while radiating minutely crafted, pure magic. After studying at the University of Cincinnati and time spent in Houston Grand Opera’s opera studio she started thrilling audiences all over the world with the great Mozart, Verdi, Strauss and Wagner roles, Elettra (Idomeneo), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Lucrezia Contarini (I due Foscari), Leonora (Il trovatore), Desdemona (Otello), Amelia (Un ballo in maschera), Amelia Grimaldi (Simon Boccanegra) and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus). This American soprano was highly praised by critics and audiences alike for her portrayals of lead roles including Norma and Aida. She won the 2016 Richard Tucker Award and is a regular guest at houses including the Metropolitan Opera New York, Washington National Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and the Arena di Verona. Last season engagements included her first Isolde, at Santa Fe Opera. Now she returns to Frankfurt, where she sang the Kaiserin in Die Frau ohne Schatten (available on CD – OehmsClassics) and Elisabeth de Valois in Don Carlo, in recital. Welcome back!
