Streaming of Woman. Life. Freedom.
The Iranian/Canadian countertenor (who can ever forget his Oberon here in Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream - his debut at Oper Frankfurt) is so worried about the situation in Iran that he was determined to do something so organised this benefit concert! Excerpts of which can be seen from December 22 streamed by IDAGIO.
Participants included Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg (interim Lord Mayor of Frankfurt), Enissa Amani, Roya Boroumand (co-founder of the Abdorrahman Boroumand Center), actress Sepideh Moafi and poetry readings by Jasmin Tabatabai, Joyce DiDonato, Barbara Hannigan, Dame Ann Murray KS and Thomas Hampson.
All contributing artists performed in the name of Woman. Life. Freedom. ژن، ژیان، ئازادی and, of course, زن زندگی آزادی
