A chance to hear Claudia Mahnke, a much loved member of Oper Frankfurt's ensemble with a wonderfully versatile voice and extraordinary stage presence, and internationally celebrated interpreter of great roles including Fricka (Der Ring des Nibelungen), Judith (Bluebeard's Castle), Didon (Les Troyens) and The Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos) in recital. Recent triumphs in Frankfurt have included Brangäne and Herodias in new productions of Tristan und Isolde and Salome. She returned to the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich for Magdalena in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, a role she is scheduled to sing at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2021. Claudia Mahnke has thrilled audiences at the Bayreuth and Edinburgh festivals, in Madrid, Lyon, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Seoul. We look forward to finding out what this former member of the Staatsoper in Stuttgart, who bestowed the title of Kammersängerin upon her, will be singing, with her pianist Hilko Dumno.
