Donát Havár

Donát Havár graduated from the University for Music Stuttgart in 2004 before continuing his studies at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. He was a member of the ensemble at Theater Bonn, where roles included Tamino, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and the title role in Handel's Jephtha. He sang Melito in Telemann's Die Geduldige Sokrates / Patient Socrates at the Staatsoper in Berlin under René Jacobs, made his debut at La Scala Milan in 2006, singing Aceste in Mozart's Ascanio in Alba under Giovanni Antonini and sang Ferrando in Così fan tutte at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Other engagements have taken him to the Opéra National du Rhin, the Komische Oper Berlin, Opéra National de Bordeaux and Bad Wildbad Rossini Festival. He also enjoys a busy concert career, appearing at leading venues in Europe including the Konzerthaus in Vienna and Philharmonie in Berlin. He joined the Chorus at Oper Frankfurt in 2014, where he often sings solos, including 2nd Priest and an Apprentice in this season's new productions of Die Zauberflöte and Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg.
