Marion Plantey is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she appears often, most recently in new productions of Dialogues des Carmélites, Die Nacht vor Weihnachten / The Night Before Christmas (»Performance of the Year 2022« - Opernwelt - available on DVD), Handel's Orlando and a revival of Barrie Kosky’s Carmen, for this new Elektra. Since graduating from the Iwanson School of Contemporary Dance in 2019 this French artist has been working free-lance as a dancer and choreographer. Recent productions have included the world premiere of Pascal Dusapin’s opera Il Viaggio, Dante at the Aix-en-Provence Festival (dir: Claus Guth). Other projects have included working with choreographers including Lola Lince, Alessandro Sousa Perreira, Ramses Sigl and Romain Guion. She founded the Wamma Dance Company in 2018, for whom she has developed many contemporary dance projects as a choreographer. She lives in Frankfurt and has been working with Max Härtel for Hessen’s Ministry for Culture on a programme to encourage artistic education in schools since 2022.
