Corinna Schmitz studied in Munich, at the University for Music in Vienna with Prof. Valentin Erben (Alban Berg Quartet) and Berlin, where she gained early orchestral experience for a year on a scholarship to the Berlin Philharmonic's Karajan Academy. Passionately involved in chamber music, she was a member of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the ECYO, Bremen Chamber Philharmonic, appeared with the hr (Hessen Radio)-Sinfonieorchester, the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Bamberg Sinfoniker, before joining the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchest as a cellist in August 2003.
