Brandon Cedel's roles in Frankfurt since joining the ensemble have included Argante in a new production of Rinaldo, Donner (Das Rheingold), Lieutenant Ratcliff (Billy Budd), Ariodate in a new production of Xerxes, Masetto (Don Giovanni), roles in a new double bill of Haddad's A Wintery Spring / Zelenka's Il serpente di bronzo and the bass-baritone role in a new production of Mozart's Betulia liberata. During the 2018/19 season he can be heard as The Speaker (Die Zauberflöte), Cesare Angelotti (Tosca) and Brander (La damnation de Faust). He has been invited back to the Glyndebourne Festival, where he has sung Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Masetto, for Argante in 2019. He returns to the Metropolitan Opera in New York on a regular basis, most recently for Masetto, and makes his debut at the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto, singing Colline. Other recent engagements have included Mozart's Figaro at Philadelphia Opera and the Castleton Festival, Colline (La Bohème) at the Boston Lyric Opera, Theseus (Britten's A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Panthée (Les Troyens, in concert) at the Grand Théâtre in Geneva and Don Basilio (Il barbiere di Siviglia) at Pittsburgh Opera.
