The Polish pianist and vocal coach Michał Biel works regularly with Jakub Józef Orliński. He has been Artist in Residence at places including the International Meistersinger Academy in Neumarkt, the Songfest in Los Angeles, The Song Continues in the Carnegie Hall, at the Académie du Festival d’Aix, Winter Singing Course in Duszniki Zdrój, the Wratislavia Cantans Festival and, with the bass Alex Rosen, with whom he also won 2nd prize at the Hugo Wolf Academy's International Art of Lieder Competition, at the Académie Orsay Royaumont in 2018/19. He has also won prizes for being an excellent pianist and accompanist at places including the Akademische Lieder Competition in Breslau, the Ludomir Róycki National Singing Competition in Gliwice, Stanisław Moniuszko International Singing Competition in Warsaw and Grand Prix de l’Opera in Bucharest. This young musician studied at the Juilliard School in New York, where he was taught by Brian Zeger, Margo Garrett, Jonathan Feldman and J. J. Penna. He has been a member of Teatr Wielki's Opera Academy in Warsaw since 2013.
