Krešimir Stražanac is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt singing Tusenbach in this new production of Eötvös' Tri sestry / Three Sisters - a role he has sung at Zurich Opera. After studying at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart he joined the ensemble at Zurich Opera, where roles have included Don Fernando (Fidelio), Harlekin (Ariadne auf Naxos), Konrad Nachtigall (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and Ping (Turandot). In 2017 this Croatian bass-baritone made his debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, singing Pietro Fléville in Andrea Chénier, which he will return to sing in 2019. Concert work has included appearances with the Bavarian Radio, WDR and hr symphony orchestras, the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Staatskapelle Dresden, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony, the Staatsorchester Stuttgart, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, Concerto Köln, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and Tokyo Symphony Orchestra. Krešimir Stražanac is passionate about singing Lieder, for which he has won many awards. His career is well documented by recordings and DVDs.
