The mezzo-soprano Nina Tarandek has enjoyed great success with a wide range of repertoire during her time as a member of the ensemble at Oper Frankfurt, including Angelina (La Cenerentola), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Sesto (Giulio Cesare in Egitto), Giovanna (Rigoletto), Kate (Owen Wingrave), a Shady Lady (Reimann's Die Gespenstersonate / Ghost Sonata), Antonia (Tiefland) and Aloès (Chabrier's L’Étoile). Last season she sang Curra in La forza del destino and Laura in Iolanta - both new productions - and Waltraute in Die Walküre). This Croatian singer's roles for the company during the 2019/20 season are a Hotel Page in Martinů's Julietta, Cléone in a new production of Fauré's Pénélope, Tebaldo in Don Carlo, Madama La Rosa in a new production of La gazzetta, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Dog / Woodpecker in Das schlaue Füchslein / The Cunning Little Vixen and the Kurfürstin in a new production of Der Prinz von Homburg. She also sang the lead role in Sciarrino's Luci mie traditrici in Frankfurt, a co-production with the 2010 Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano. Recent engagements have taken her to places including the Semperoper in Dresden, the Theater an der Wien, Volksoper in Vienna, Staatstheater in Darmstadt, Theater Freiburg, to Vilnius and Caracas. She has appeared in concert with the hr-Sinfonieorchester, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mozarteumorchester in Salzburg, the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Philharmonic, Simon Bolivar Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic on tour in China.
