The German / Brazilian tenor Martin Muehle is appearing at Oper Frankfurt for the first time in this first revival of Manon Lescaut. During the 2020/21 season he will sing Verdi's Otello (role debut) at the Staatsoper in Hannover and return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for Calaf (Turandot), the National Theatre Prague for Andrea Chénier, Cologne Opera for Don José (Carmen) and Theater Bern for Pollione in Norma (in concert). He can also be heard in concert in Le Villi with the Munich Radio Orchestra and Liszt's Faust Symphonie with the Stuttgart Philharmonic. Recent highlights have included his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu as Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana) and Canio (Pagliacci) and his return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin for Andrea Chénier. Other recent engagements have included Andrea Chénier at the Teatro Regio di Parma, Manrico (Il Trovatore) at Theater Bern and Seattle Opera, Don José at the Hamburg State Opera, Theater Bern and the Bregenz Festival, Maurizio (Adriana Lecouvreur) at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Pollione and Lohengrin at Theater St. Gallen, Faust (Mefistofele) at Theater Freiburg, Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut) in São Paolo and Hagenbach (La Wally), Faust (The Damnation of Faust) and Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) at the National Theatre in Mannheim.
