Canada born Eric Laporte is back in Frankfurt, where he made his triumphant debut as Ulysse in a new production of Fauré's Pénélope, to sing the title role in Oedipus Rex. Recent engagements have included Erik in Der fliegende Holländer / The Flying Dutchman at the Festival d‘Opéra de Québec, Lohengrin at the Staatstheater in Nürnberg and Faust in La damnation de Faust at Hannover State Opera. Future plans, apart from several concerts, include Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at the Opéra de Québec, Lancelot (Chausson's Roi Arthus) at the Tirol Festival in Erl and Jim Mahoney (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny / The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) at the Komische Oper in Berlin. He has appeared at theatres including Cologne Opera, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, the Volksoper in Vienna, Scottish Opera in Glasgow, the Opéra National du Rhin in Strasbourg, the Opéra de Nice and Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse. His repertoire includes Hoffmann, Werther, Gounod's Faust, Nadir (Pearl Fishers), Radames and Don José. Eric Laporte began his career in the Opéra de Montréal's opera studio and was a member of the ensembles at the Landestheater in Linz and Theater Bonn.
