Dshamilja Kaiser went under contract in Bonn in 2017, where she has enjoyed great success with roles including Schoeck's Penthesilea, Carmen, Ortrud in Lohengrin, Laura in Ponchielli's La Gioconda and Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana. Now she is back at Oper Frankfurt, where she appeared for the first time in 2019, as Adalgisa in Norma, a role she has sung for Den Norske Opera in Oslo, to sing Madame Flora (role debut) in this thrilling production of Menotti's The Medium. Last season she sang another role for the first time: the Foreign Princess in a new production of Dvořák's Rusalka at the Tirol Festival in Erl. She sang Rossweiße in Die Walküre under Daniel Barenboim at the Staatsoper Berlin. Engagements during the 2020/21 season include Lisa in a new production of Weinberg's Die Passagierin / The (female) Passenger at Oper Graz, Brangäne (Tristan und Isolde) at the Staatsoper in Prague and Lady Macbeth in the first ever performances in Germany of Pascal Dusapin's Macbeth Underworld at the Staatstheater in Saarbrücken. Dshamilja Kaiser, who has appeared in two productions at the Bregenz Festival, won the 2015 Austrian Opera Prize in the »Best Up and Coming Singer« category. She also enjoys a busy concert career at home and abroad, appearing recently in venues including the Musikverein in Vienna. She was born in Wuppertal and studied at the University of Music in Detmold and was a member of the ensemble at Oper Graz from 2009 – 2017, where roles included Léonor de Guzman (La Favorite), Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Romeo (I Capuleti e i Montecchi), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda) and Hänsel (Hänsel und Gretel).
