Set & Costume Designer
Kaspar Glarner works regularly at Oper Frankfurt, most recently on the highly successful world premiere of Arnulf Herrmann's Der Mieter / The Tenant and Vincent Boussard's productions of Ezio and Adriana Lecouvreur. Now he is back for this new The Medium / Satyicon double bill in the Bockenheimer Depot. He designed the sets for Vincent Boussard's productions of Ezio and Adriana Lecouvreur, costumes for Keith Warner's productions of Death in Venice, Lear and Falstaff, sets for Keith Warner's productions of Volo di notte / Il prigioniero in Frankfurt, Die Frau ohne Schatten in Hamburg, Katja Kabanová at the Theater an der Wien and costumes for Simon Boccanegra and Tannhäuser in Straßburg, Elektra in Prague and San Francisco, Die Teufel von Loudun/The Devil of Loudun in Copenhagen and Warsaw and Otello at the Royal Opera House in London. He worked with Johannes Erath on Hoffmans Erzählungen / The Tales of Hoffmann in Bern, Aida at Cologne Opera, Lohengrin in Graz and, most recently, the world premiere of Joby Talbot's Everest at Theater Hagen. Next season they create a new production of I masnadieri at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich. Kaspar Glarner also works regularly with Walter Sutcliffe (productions have included Owen Wingrave and Reimann's Die Gespenstersonate / The Ghost Sonata at Oper Frankfurt, Rigoletto in Santiago de Chile and Tiefland in Toulouse). He recently enjoyed great success with Mayuzumi's Kinkakuiji in Strassburg and Der feurige Engel / The Fiery Angel in Warsaw and the 2018 Aix en Provence Festival. Next season he designs the set and costumes for Lady Macbeth von Mtsensk at Oper Frankfurt and costumes for Parsifal at the Opéra National du Rhin.
