The American soprano Corinne Winters, who graduated from the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia and has won many competitions, is making her debut at Oper Frankfurt singing the title role in Iolanta. Key to her repertoire is the role of Violetta in La traviata, which she has sung at theatres including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and English National Opera in London, Theater Basel, Australian Opera, San Diego Opera, Seattle Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, the Opera House in Detroit, Opera Lyra Ottawa and Hong Kong Opera. Recent and future plans include Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) at Covent Garden and with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Mélisande (Pelléas et Mélisande) in Zürich and Saint Louis, and Mimi (La Bohème) at English National Oper, in Washington and at Arizona Opera, where she has also sung Juliette (Roméo et Juliette). She sang her first Katja Kabanowa in Seattle, Desdemona (Otello), Rachel (La Juive) and Leila (Les pêcheurs de perles) in Antwerp, Tatjana (Eugene Onegin) at Arizona Opera and in Detroit, Magda (La rondine) in Saint Louis, Liù (Turandot) with the Orquesta Sinfónica Simón Bolívar de Venezuela under Gustavo Dudamel and the title role in Halka at the Theater an der Wien. She started the season off with Madama Butterfly at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and future plans include Puccini's Il trittico at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels and Katya Kabanova and Jenůfa at the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
