 Opera and Schools 

Dear Teachers

The aim of JETZT! – Oper für dich is to reach out, in many different ways, and involve the broadest possible audience: from people taking an interest in opera for the first time, regular opera goers, small children, school children, students & adults.

Our Opera for Children performances take place in the mornings in the Holzfoyer at Oper Frankfurt.

Older students get the chance to take a really close look at what is involved in putting on a new production. The course involves a scenic-music workshop, attending a rehearsal, going on a back stage tour and talking to people involved with the production.

Our tour to schools in Frankfurt and the Rhein-Main region, engaging with children who would otherwise never get the chance of going to the opera, begins in June 2017. This year the short opera is: Kleine OpernWelt/Little Opera World . All we need is a stage, a strong supply of electricity, a tuned piano and, of course, our audience - your school children! 

For children between the ages of 6 & 10

School children get the chance of hearing our orchestra, the Frankfurter Opern- und Museumsorchester, rehearse for a symphonic concert. Before attending the rehearsal there a workshop and talks with musicians.

Dates will appear in the Newsletter and by arrangement.

We offer workshops with music and games to prepare your group for, possibly, their first taste of opera. Then book your class in for a morning performance of one of the following works in this season's Opera for Children. series.
