Deanna Pauletto is making her European debut in the world premiere of Saed Haddad's A Wintery Spring, which was commissioned by Oper Frankfurt and the Ensemble Modern. This Italian/Canadian mezzo-soprano sang Tisbe (La Cenerentola) and Bizet's Carmen at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, where she found a very important mentor in Marylin Horne, taking part in her concert series »The Song Continues« in Carnegie Hall in New York in 2016. Recent engagements have included Rosina (Il barbiere di Seviglia), Ruggiero (Alcina), Končakovna (Prince Igor) and Salud (La vida breve) at the Voicebox Opera in Toronto, Giulietta (The Tales of Hoffmann) for Escales Lyriques and Bradamante (Alcina) in Edmonton. In 2016 Deanna Pauletto took part in the Chautauqua Opera Company's Young Artist Program, where roles included Katisha (Gilbert & Sullivan's The Mikado). She studied at York University and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatoire in Milan.
