Dimitri Pittas is one of the most sought after tenors in the world. He is now back in Frankfurt, where he sang Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor in 2009/10, for Rodolfo in La Bohème, a role he has sung at the Metropolitan Opera New York, Houston Grand Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Canadian Opera Company in Toronto and the Opéra National de Paris. Other roles at the Met in New York, where he was born, have included Cassio (Otello), Alfred ), Macduff (Macbeth), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and Tamino (Die Zauberflöte). Other recent engagements have included Verdi's Don Carlo, Gounod's Faust, Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Oronte (I Lombardi), Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) and Alfredo (La traviata) at leading houses in America and Europe, including the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Vienna, Munich and Hamburg state operas, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London and the Bolschoi Theater in Moscow. This season he returns to Moscow for Don Carlo and sings Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) at the Houston Grand Opera, Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at Washington National Opera and Alfred in Santa Fe.
