The American tenor Cooper Nolan is making his debut at Oper Frankfurt, singing the title role (role debut) in this reivival of Stiffelio. He recently made his European debut at Kiel Opera, singing Don José in Carmen, a role he has sung at El Paso Opera and Minnesota Opera, where he has also sung Trin (La fanciulla del West), covered Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) and took part in the world premiere of Kevin Puts’ The Manchurian Candidate. His roles at Santa Fe Opera have included Tybalt (Roméo et Juliette) and Teague (Jennifer Higdon's Cold Mountain). Other recent engagements have included covering Bacchus (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Glimmerglass Festival and Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) at Winter Opera St. Louis. Cooper Nolan graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and won the regional Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions twice.
