During the 2016/17 season Sebastian Zierer conducts further performances of Carmen, Die Zauberflöte and La Bohème. He joined Oper Frankfurt as a soloists' coach in 2008, and was named Kapellmeister in 2013/14. He recently conducted the world premiere of Lior Navok's An unserem Fluss/By Our River in the Bockenheimer Depot and performances of Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöte, Così fan tutte and Hänsel und Gretel. In 2010/11 he conducted the first ever performances in Germany of Aulis Sallinen's Barabbas-Dialoge. This was followed by a new production of Stravinsky's Die Geschichte vom Soldaten/A Soldier's Tale and performances of Adriana Lecouvreur, Chabrier's L’Étoile, Die Hochzeit des Figaro/Le nozze di Figaro and Die Fledermaus. Sebastian Zierer has also worked with the Philharmonie Südwestfalen, the Stuttgart, Pforzheim and Mannheim chamber orchestras and, several times, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Danzig. Whilst studying in Freiburg and Frankfurt he worked as an assistant at Cologne Opera and led the Freiburg Student Orchestra. Sebastian Zierer is a composer too and has arranged works for, amongst others, the WDR Sinfonieorchester and Hungarian National Orchestra.
